Monopoly

Monopoly

Property trading might not seem like an exciting premise for a board game. But Monopoly has proven that it is – and millions of tabletop players across the world agree. The original set came to be in 1935, but it can trace its origins further than that: an activist named Lizzie Magie developed a precursor to the famous game, called The Landlord’s Game, in an attempt to illustrate the dangers of monopolism. Nowadays, the game is more fun than educational, and there are versions of it that take inspiration from countless cities and popular fictional universes. This classic version of the game provides a digital means of accumulating wealth – meaning that you won’t need to deal with paper money or dice!
